Preventing and Responding to Workplace Bullying

‘Express Your Interest’ to attend a unique Case Study Panel Discussion presented by IOH.

This is an excellent opportunity for those involved with managing people, workplace injuries, return to work coordination or health and safety to understand and evaluate workplace practices in order to prevent and respond to workplace bullying.

The Panel Discussion is based around aย hypothetical workplace bullying case. The panelists highlight anย integrated risk management approachย from preventative measures to complaint management and resolution with insight into appropriate actions at various stages of workplace bullying.

Outline:

  1. Introduction and Outline of Case Study
  2. Prevention Strategies – Policies & procedures, bullying risk assessments, audits, specialised training, consultation
  3. Complaint Management โ€“ Internal/external investigations taking into account procedural fairness/FW Commission & WC Commission legislative requirements, Medical assessments & treatment, Independent psychological assessments, Rehabilitation services including RTW planning, monitoring and case management
  4. Resolution -Treatment needs beyond the closure of workplace interventions (transition to alternate roles or employers, Vocational assessments)

Legislation requires Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) to control and manage the exposure to asbestos in the workplace. This duty includes the requirements relating to identifying, documenting, recording and managing asbestos.ย 

Participants will gain an understanding of the risks posed by asbestos and asbestos containing materials and how to work safely in areas which may be suspected or confirmed of containing asbestos.

Please note this Asbestos Awareness sessionย DOES NOT COVERย any employee who is required to undertake asbestos work in the ACT.ย  The regulation mandates a specific training course – theย VET course Asbestos Awareness (10314NAT). From 1 July, 2014 only training in this course will meet the requirements of the regulation.ย  For further information click on the link below.
