ASBESTOS AWARENESS
Legislation requires Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) to control and manage the exposure to asbestos in the workplace. This duty includes the requirements relating to identifying, documenting, recording and managing asbestos.
Participants will gain an understanding of the risks posed by asbestos and asbestos containing materials and how to work safely in areas which may be suspected or confirmed of containing asbestos.
Please note this Asbestos Awareness session DOES NOT COVER any employee who is required to undertake asbestos work in the ACT. The regulation mandates a specific training course – the VET course Asbestos Awareness (10314NAT). From 1 July, 2014 only training in this course will meet the requirements of the regulation.
